~An Orgy Of Color and Glamour..."Orglamix"

~Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions." -Pablo Picasso

I couldn't agree more Mr.Picasso, the colors I'm wearing are almost always a dead give away to my mood/emotions at that time. Sometimes I use the power of color to alter my mood. If I'm stuck in a dark mood I may throw on a hot pink pair of stilettos and matching lipgloss, because I believe in the power of pink. I also believe in the power of mandarin orange, lime green, cerise, aubergine, sapphire etc... So if I were to have a "makeup soulmate" it would be "Orglamix".
This is a brand that I cannot say enough about. So I will tell you the most important facts.

1) Orglamix is a makeup artists dream product. Rich pigment, flawless finish, large array of colors to choose from, and AFFORDABLE.
2) Privately owned, the creator/owner of this brand is readily and willingly accessible. Cheri (see, accessible!!) is very always happy to communicate with her clients. She has a Facebook and Twitter page that she actively communicates through and email that can be sent via the aforementioned sites and the Orglamix official shop site. If you have questions or concerns regarding the product she is the kind of business owner that will take the time to address such matters.
3) Did I mention AFFORDABLE?! I have never in my life seen quality for such little cost. It's almost criminal. Single pigments can be bought for as little as $3.00 and 3 pigment collections as little as $7.50.
4) All of the products are completely and utterly all natural and excellent for all skin types.
5) My FAVORITE part...the "Custom Colorista" Custom shades!! It's as simple as contacting Cheri/Orglamix and providing an image or two of the color you wish to have made, include properties such as "sheer" or "color shifting" and in no time you will have a unique shade that is all your own. FABULOUS.

Now for Orglamix policies and background, I will let Cheri tell you in her own words because I couldn't say it better than her:

Thanks for stopping by Orglamix Cosmetics!

Quilting & Blooms

Quilting and 105 degree Weather...

We have had temperatures over 100 degrees this week.
Rare for the Coastal Mountain Range of Western Oregon.
I have spent a few mornings quilting at 5am to beat the heat of the day.

This is the last of the 3 BIG flowers to be machine quilted.
I couldn't resist putting some hot pink thread on those black flower petals.

It has cooled down today, so I am hoping to get a few hours of quilting in tonight, maybe even finish this quilt...

Monday I found this star shaped metal gear in a thrift store...
I am becoming obsessed with all things RUSTY.

Tuesday I put the metal star onto some fabric soaked in vinegar, along with a few horse shoes from Dancer & Freckles....the start of a new rust dye piece.

I scraped out the rust from the bottom of Brad's tool box and sprinkled it across the the fabric to add a bit more rust. It is covered up with plastic to keep it moist. I will check it in a few days to see how the rust is transferring to the fabric.

I can dry a load of laundry in an hour in 105 degree temperature!

The new flowerbed behind the house is full of these gorgeous glads

Just love the yellow centers in these pink glads.

Suzy spent the night at the doctor last night.
She had minor surgery.
We brought her home today.
She is recovering nicely.

Black Hollyhocks
Love those star shaped centers!

Hens & Hollyhocks

Pink State Fair Zinnia
This image is a quilt.....waiting to happen!
How fun to do some threadplay on those petals and center.

"I know not everyone will like me, but this is who I am so if you don't like it, tough!" -Britney Spears

I have made no secret of my love of cartoons/comics and super heroines and villainesses. I also have been an out loud and proud Britney supporter. I feel all of the aforementioned are utterly glamorous, sexy and put plainly, kick ass. So I was thrilled when the winning video of Britney's Global Fan Fiction contest was released and it was animated!! The winner, Britneli (one name, apparently like Madonna...Lol)the grand-prize winner, chose the song 'Kill the Lights' and wrote a Britney-inspired story which was been transformed into a official digitally animated music video. Nice work Britneli!! Congrats!!

See the video after the jump.

~The British Are Coming!! Introducing "Illamasqua"~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´
"There is certainly no absolute standard of beauty. That precisely is what makes its pursuit so interesting." -John Kenneth Galbraith

In September of 2008 a line of cosmetics called Illamasqua was launched in Selfridges, London. I personally have been dying to get my hands on it for the past few months, any line that earned itself the nickname "The British MAC" in less than a year had to be something extraordinary. Not to mention the fact that everytime I saw a promotional photo for the wonder brand, I literally got a headrush (yes, I have a severe makeup addiction) and yearned to paint faces with the rich beautiful colors in the collections. Speaking of the collections, they have a unique marketing approach, Illamasqua breaks down the brand into 4 "stories" in which you are to find your "alter ego". Omg...I LOVE IT!!
The 4 Stories are:
1)1920’s Berlin
2)Noir
3)Fantasy and Romance
4)Sirens (limited edition)

Another fabulous aspect of the company is that like MAC, they pay special attention to professional MUAs, giving them a generous 40% discount. MUA's like myself are lovin that. That being said...here is the approximate price range, $21 for a single eyeshadow, $18.50 for a lipgloss and around $29.50 for a foundation, so slightly more than MAC, but not as much as say Chanel or Christian Dior.

At the store in Selfridges the counter was equipped with laptops so when you go in for a makeover/application you could google any look you fancied for a recreation. That's ultra cool, no word on if that will be available in the US but I would think that would be a great new feature that american women would enjoy. Also included in the makeover/application is a dvd for you to take home to recreate the look yourself, and the price of the makeover/application is redeemable against products. So fabulous...that being said...

I am pleased to announce with much joy and anticipation that...THE BRITISH ARE COMING!! Yes, Illamasqua will be available stateside very soon. The line has been picked up by Sephora and will be in stores by the end of the month, however it is already available on Sephora's online forum. There will only be a few products from the line that won't pass US guidelines and will not be able to be sold however the bulk of the line will be available to you shortly.

Here are a few of Illamasqua's looks for those not familiar:

I love the sleek and simple yet elegant packaging...
