MY HIT LIST # 25 Symphony in Slang

SYMPHONY IN SLANG (1951) is my personal favourite Tex Avery cartoon; closely
followed by Red Hot Riding Hood and King Size Canary.

Utilising visual recreations of slang terms this cartoon has everything but the kitchen sink in terms of literal and obvious puns. This is combined with a kinetic energy and cool styling typical of Tex Avery’s work.
watch and enjoy!
A true iconoclast with massive influence on both Cartoons and comedy in general. From Airplane to Ren & Stimpy by way of The Simpsons and Sam Raimi the influence is there to see.
A Symphony In Slang is a fantastic piece of work that stands up to repeated viewing and above
all it’s a lot of fun!
