Portrait Class......Saturday

I should have been home packing for class tomorrow,
but I spent the day working cattle...

I do love working with the animals,
so I rarely miss the spring round up.

We arrived home at 3:30...

" Gunnr "
Neocolor II Portrait on Fabric

I went right out to the Thread Shed and began organizing and
packing for the portrait class tomorrow.

7:30 pm I walked in the door and started dinner.

It is now 8:30 and I am showered and heading to bed.

See you in class in the morning!

Mixed Media.......Packing for Class

I spent today packing up supplies for the
Mixed Media Class
tomorrow...

These are some of the found objects that you will be
playing with tomorrow if you are enrolled in my
Mixed Media Class

With all of this inspiration here in front of me,
I couldn't help but start a new Mixed Media Quilt:

I will bring this along to class tomorrow and show you
how I attach everything to the quilted sandwich.

I hope to see You in class !

Mixed Media.......New Class Sample

I recently stamped these tea bag papers

I decided to use a few of them in a new
Mixed Media Class Sample Quilt:

This is a piece of fabric that was Rust Dyed
last summer.
It will be the foundation for this mixed media piece.

Auditioning a few tea bag papers
and metal embellishments...

The stamped tea bags show up nicely on the lightly rusted areas

Auditioning a few found papers

At this point...
all of the tea bag papers have been fastened down with
soft gel medium

Playing with the placement of the
metal leaf light switch cover

Not sure which orientation feels right
for the light switch cover...

This lay out seems balanced.

I will hand sew the metal embellishments on
after all of the machine quilting is completed.

Waxed Threads

I will bring this to class as a sample
and couch down these waxed threads.

I hope to see YOU in class !
