A white killer whale was spotted by US scientists aboard NOAA research ship Oscar Dyson who were conducting an acoustic survey of pollock near Steller sea lion haulout sites in Alaska's Aleutian Islands. The whale appeared to be a healthy, adult male about 25 to 30 feet long and weighing upward of 10,000 pounds. Link

Golfer Kills Hawk Incident-- PGA Tour golfer Tripp Isenhour was charged with intentionally killing a hawk by hitting golf balls at it because the migratory bird was making noise as he videotaped the TV show "Shoot Like A Pro" on Dec. 12.
Tripp Isenhour could be facing charges after an animal rights group called on the PGA Tour to punish him for killing a hawk with a golf shot.
The 39-year-old player, whose real name is John Henry Isenhour III, killed the bird after becoming frustrated with its persistent squawking during the filming of his television show Shoot Like A Pro. The incident happened on December 12 at Isenhour's home course, the Grand Cypress Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, and the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) are now urging the PGA to launch a full investigation.
After becoming angry with the red-shouldered hawk, Isenhour is reported to have driven his golf cart to within 300 metres of the bird before he starting to hit shots at it. However, the bird failed to move and the American gave up and drove away. When the noise started again Isenhour is reported to have moved to within 75 metres before allegedly saying: "I'll get him now."
The details of the incident are outlined in a report compiled by Brian Baine, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer. He added: "About the sixth ball came very near [to] the bird's head, and [Isenhour] was very excited that it was so close."
Witnesses says a few shots later he struck the bird, which then fell to the ground bleeding from both nostrils.
Tripp Isenhour was charged on Wednesday with cruelty to animals and killing a migratory bird, crimes that carry a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1,500 in fines. He has since apologized and claimed he was trying to scare the hawk away
"As soon as this happened, I was mortified and extremely upset and continue to be upset. I want to let everyone know there was neither any malice nor deliberate intent whatsoever to hit or harm the hawk. I was trying to simply scare it into flying away."

It’s made with the eager help of stars, who were the laughing stocks of Kutcher’s former MTV show. This time the shoe’s on the other foot, and the series has been kept so tightly under wraps that E!’s own website fell victim to the Hilton hoax and other planted stories that producers won’t yet divulge.

Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz, the recently-divorced second wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy, will marry her long-time lover Richard Attias in New York. According to Point de Vue magazine, the wedding ceremony will take place on March 22.
"Versace is delighted to announce that Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz and Richard Attias have chosen to be dressed by Versace for the happy occasion of their wedding, which will take place in New York later this month," said in a statement from the Italian fashion house Versace which will design the wedding outfits for Cecilia and Attias.
Cecilia Ciganer-Albeniz had once left the then Internal Affairs Minister Nicolas Sarkozy in May 2005 to live with Moroccan-born PR man Richard Attias, before returning to Sarkozy's side in the run-up of French presidential election in May, 2007. Still, in October, Cecilia and Sarkozy, since got divorced. This February, Nicolas Sarkozy remarried to Italia-born model-turned singer Carla Bruni at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

The rare photograph (left) could be the earliest photo of a young Helen Keller with her teacher Anne Sullivan.
The photograph shows Keller sitting outside, holding Sullivan's hand and cradling a doll on Cape Cod in July 1888. The photograph was hidden in a family album for nearly 120 years before it has been uncovered recently.
Helen Keller had been left blind and deaf after an illness at the age of one-and-a-half-years-old. Anne Sullivan was hired as a tutor in 1887 to teach her.
Helen learned language from words spelled manually into her hand with Sullivan. While "doll" was the first word spelled into her hand, Helen finally comprehended the meaning of language a few weeks later with the word "water," as famously depicted in the "The Miracle Worker."
Sullivan stayed at her side until her death in 1936, and Helen became a world-famous deafblind author.
Fan favorite Christian Siriano didn't disappoint his fans on Heidi Klum’s Project Runway 4 Finale. The 22-year-old Annapolis native Christian Siriano was crowned the youngest Project Runway winner ever of Bravo TV's hit reality TV.
He was awarded $100,000 to start his own line, as well as a new Saturn Astra car and a six-page Elle spread.

Today Show correspondent Natalie Morales [wiki] who hasn't appeared in the show for sometime is revealed that she has been pregnant with husband Joe Rhodes' second baby. Jen Brown writes:
Were you wondering why Natalie Morales hasn’t been tasting the adult beverages on the TODAY Show lately? Have you noticed she’s been conspicuously holding the newspaper in front of her stomach?
Well, the secret’s out — Morales is pregnant!
“We’re really excited!” said Morales, who is 12 weeks along. “It’s truly a blessing.”
This will be the second child for Morales, 35, and her husband, Joe Rhodes. Their son Josh is 4.
“He’s excited to be a big brother. He says he’ll share all his toys … he says that now!”
"...when I found out I was pregnant, it was the best news I’d gotten all year,” Morales said. “We had been trying for a long time … Most people think you can just decide to have a child, but it just doesn’t work that way.”
Morales said she knew was pregnant when she had an overwhelming craving for a cheeseburger, the same food she coveted when she was pregnant with Josh. When she was buying a big bag of deliciously acidic oranges a few days later, she and Joe were positive they were expecting.
“How amazing that your body knows what it has to do! We are so perfect in that way. We are so made to have children.”
That isn’t to say Morales is immune to the pitfalls of pregnancy. While she’s escaped morning sickness — a relief, considering she’s at work so early in the day — she’s been getting nauseous at night. And she said she’s feeling much more tired than she was during her first pregnancy.
Apparently, baby Morales will not be the only tiny addition to the TODAY family in 2008, anchor Giada De Laurentiis is expecting her first child next month.
Natalie Morales was born to Penelope Morales and Lieutenant Colonel Mario Morales Jr on June 6, 1972 in Taiwan. She spent much of her life living overseas with her family in Panama, Brazil and Spain. Morales married Joe Rhodes on 22 August 1998.
Natalie Morales joined “Today” as a National Correspondent in February 2006. Prior to joining Today, she was an anchor and correspondent at MSNBC since March 2002.

Patrick Swayze's pancreatic cancer ailment rumor is true, the beloved Hollywood actor's rep has confirmed in a statement to TMZ.com:
"Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick's physician Dr. George Fisher states, 'Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.' Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."
Pancreatic cancer, one of the deadliest of all cancers, is the formation of malignant cancer cells and tumors in the tissues of the pancreas. The average life expectancy for the disease is six to nine months, with only four percent of patients living more than five years. Source

In a shocking world exclusive, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has uncovered the devastating news that the beloved Hollywood actor and dancer was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
Patrick and his wife Lisa Niemi — who both have pilot's licenses — have been flying their private Beechcraft plane into Palo Alto's airport, minutes away from the Stanford Cancer Center, where the actor has received outpatient treatment.
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.
"He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure," said an insider.

Hehe, an interesting story on Japanese model Serena Kazakura whose big breasts have not only boosted her career, but also helped her overturn a court verdict:
Serena Kazakura. Japanese Model. Big Breasts. Big deal? Well, it’s because of her big breasts that a Judge tossed a guilty verdict of property destruction out the window.
Serena Kozakura was convicted last year of property damage as a man claimed that she had kicked in a wooden door of his room and crawled inside - supposedly because she was furious that he was with another woman. The 38-year-old has a 44 inch bust and there was no way that she would have been able to fit through such a small opening. During the trial, her defense attorneys held up a plate the size of the hole and explained that Serena was too well endowed to have been able to get through. Serena had said previously that the man himself was the one who made the hole.
Judge Kunio Harada threw out the guilty verdict and did not believe the man’s account of what had happened. Kozakura said, “but it was my breasts that won in court”.
Kozakura went on the Asahi network [video below, in Japanese] and demonstrated how it was impossible for her fit through such a small opening.

In his first ever ad campaign for LV, Richards appears with a deeply wrinkled face holding a guitar in a hotel room with a custom-made Vuitton guitar case behind him on the bed and the lights part obscured by skull-print black drapes.

When the cat "Baby girl" has a gene defect, she was born with an extra feet. Imagine when an Octopus has a gene defect, how many legs will it have? Nine? No, it's six! British marine experts at Blackpool Sealife Centre recently discovered a never-seen-before six-legged Octopus, or 'Hexapus' which has been christened Henry.
"We've scoured the Internet and talked to lots of other aquariums and no-one has ever heard of another case of a six-legged octopus," said Carey Duckhouse, of the center.
The world's first six-legged Octopus was found in a lobster pot off the north Wales coast. The unique sea creature is believed to be the result of a birth defect rather than an accident.

The Quaker Oats Co. has recalled three of its Aunt Jemima Pancake & Waffle Mix products because of potential salmonella contamination from raw or undercooked ingredients.
The recall includes Original, Original Complete and Buttermilk Complete products. The recalled products, packaged in 2-pound and 5-pound boxes with best before dates between Feb. 8, 2009 and Feb. 16, 2009, contain the following 10-digit UPCs: 30000 43272, 30000 05040, 30000 05070 and 30000 05300.
No other Aunt Jemima, frozen Aunt Jemima or Quaker products are affected. No illnesses have been linked to the recall so far.
