After machine quilting... it is time to bind it:

I am couching a braided cord for the

Edge Treatment.

This quilt would be overwhelmed with a regular binding.

Fabric, Photos, Magazine Clippings, Fortunes from cookies, Metal, Wood, Oil board, Jeans Stitch Thread, Button Cording, Fused Wavy Edge Binding.

Inspiration for this quilt was an image of a barn door.

Come and experience the fun of incorporating fabric, paper, wood, metal and fibers into your quilts.

Start out with an inspiration: birds, flowers, horses, dogs, etc. and build on that theme by adding layers of interesting found objects.

Instructor will provide the found objects, you will bring your inspiration as a starting point.

Learn simple techniques to bring your quiltmaking skills to the next level of Mixed Media.

You will create a journal size quilt in class.

Beginner Level Class, however you will need sewing machine skills to do simple machine quilting later in class.

Jello Class......Yakima, WA

This is one of the students in the Yakima, Washington Jello Printing Class.

The class was held in a beautiful facility, The Harmon Senior Center.
11 enthusiastic students attended the class and were thrilled to be playing with jello for the day!

I will post images of their jello prints when I return home and have more time at the computer.

We are in Spokane, Washington tonight.

Tomorrow we are headed for Bonners Ferry, Idaho....just minutes from the Canadian border.

More classes ahead: Rust Dye, Sun Dye & Landscape Painting, Gel Glue Resist Faux Batik

I have lots of great images to share, but not enough time right now, since we are still on the road teaching more classes.
