LYNN – Lincoln-Sudbury pitcher Adam Ravenelle didn’t put together the starting performance he expected in yesterday’s Division 1 state championship game. But the Warriors’ bats popped to life and senior Mike McGavick pitched four innings of scoreless relief as Lincoln-Sudbury beat Minnechaug, 10-2, at Fraser Field.
“There’s always doubt on how your team’s going to come out, but I never had any doubt [yesterday],’’ Lincoln-Sudbury coach Kirk Fredericks said. “[McGavick] was unbelievable, that’s why he deserved a round of applause by our fan base. It was a great performance by a great kid.’’
Ravenelle surrendered just two hits over three-plus innings, but he gave up four walks and hit a batter while throwing 80 pitches.
